As a front, Ariel projects the air of a sweet innocent teenager, overly polite and formal, vulnerable and easy to exploit, and one who is in need of constant help and protection. This, however, is a front, and in reality, she is cold, calculating, and vengeance driven. She believes the Jedi to be the true evil in the galaxy, after what they did to her people, and she wishes to seem them wiped out entirely.
She has confidence issues, related in her weight problems, stemming from having so many powerful siblings, all of whom she feels are ‘competing’ with her to achieve the goal of Nightsister vengeance for what has been done to them, although she respects and even likes many of them. She has a burning desire to prove herself as worthy of the Coven as her other siblings.
She has an invested interest in high fashion, often dressing like a model, and even at times doing modelling of her own. She is naturally quite vain, given that much of her methods derive from people making assumptions based on her appearance.
Suffering from anorexia nervosa, although she refuses entirely to admit to it, Ariel is dangerously underweight and suffers from various health conditions due to this. Physically, she is as weak as somebody with such a slight frame should be, and she has very little stamina for prolonged physical activity. She is prone to fainting and dizziness due to her lack of food intake, especially under strenuous situations. At times, she can be very inactive, due to a lack of energy, and at her worse as even suffered slight hair loss, and she tends to miss periods due to her lack of food in take.
As well as this, the condition makes her easy to anger or manipulate via comments based on weight, as she still believed herself to be overweight and in need of losing weight obsessively, and the right comments make it very easy to provoke a reaction from her.
Reasonably short and extremely skinny (anorexically so), with brown hair, blue eyes and pale skin. She usually dresses in very up to date fashions, although her clothes are usually somewhat dainty and leave her looking somewhat vulnerable.
Personal Skills (Abilities) Edit
Known Abilities and Spells
Born on Necropolis to a Sith father and the High Priestess of the Coven, Ariel was originally raised by witches, although far from their home of Dathomir, which was under Jedi rule. Taught the traditional values of the Nightsisters, she grew up resenting the Jedi Order for taking her home from her, although often her mother, Santeria, would smuggle her there to at least visit.
Born a naturally small and dainty child, as she grew, surrounded by various siblings, she clung to the fact that she was smaller and skinnier than them as her one point of pride. Learning even as a child that people did not expect power or strength from one so small, she soon learnt that when she could not compete physically with other witches, she could lure them in to a false sense of security and strike from there. At the same time, however, her obsession with remaining small and skinny developed, and her anorexia began from a very early age.
When she was eleven, the Jedi exiled the last of the Nightsisters from Dathomir, and Ariel’s hatred for the Jedi was cemented. Furious by how throughout the galaxy they were seen as saviours and heroes but to her and her people they were conquerors who had taken their home from her. For the next two years, she looked forward to the day that the Coven would finally be able to retake their home.
But when the day came, and the battle for Dathomir occurred, the stress and preparation took its toll on Ariel’s skinny and frail frame. Prior to the attack, mere hours before the witches mobilised, Ariel collapsed, lapsing in to unconsciousness, and had to be taken to be treated in the nearest medical facility, where it developed that she was suffering from severe fatigue and the beginnings of a heart condition based upon her frailties and lack of food taken in to her system.
She missed the battle entirely, and by the time she was fit enough again to leave the hospital, Dathomir had been devastated, scorched completely in the battle. She blamed the Jedi for it, and her resentment grew even further, hating to see the rest of the galaxy consider them heroes when they had cost her the home she had so desperately wanted to fight for. But she also burnt with a humiliation, knowing that the others had fought for it, and won the planet, even if it was crippled, while she had lay in a hospital bed, weak and useless.
Her mother shared the same feelings, and punished Ariel accordingly. Tied up and force fed for several weeks, it was a time Ariel hated and feared, but regardless had no choice but to embrace. Afterwards, despite knowing that her physical condition had led to her missing the battle, she dieted worse than ever to lose the pounds her mother had forced her to put on, and despite the doctors in the hospital and her own mother telling her her thin state had caused her illness, she still couldn’t understand, as she was unable to view her body as anything but fat.
Despite this, her Nightsister training continued, and she perfected an outside personality to hide her real one, using her frail body to lure people in to a false sense of security, to trust her and believe in her, and then to strike. Now she is determined to continue to take revenge upon the Jedi, and one day to make up for the shame of her failure when she was thirteen by proving herself worthy of the Coven...
