A warrior is more than their armor. - Mandalorian proverb
Briika of Aliit Vencu was born in the small, rural village of Enceri located in the far reaches of the northern mountains of Mandalore. Her father, Aran, was considered the village alor, even though he was not an able-bodied verd. He was a very wise man. Which made up for the physical deficits left over from a childhood illness that ravaged his body, but not his sharp mind and clever wit. Aran was a staunch believer and follower of the Resol'nare, and pushed the Mando'ade of the village to adhere stricly to their cultural teachings. Her mother, Mirja, was the village's medic and midwife; the same vocation Briika would take up later after passing her verd'goten.
After making it through the Mandalorian rite of passage at thirteen, Briika began in earnest training to be a baar'ur under her buir. Healing and taking care of the lnjured and sick came naturally to the young Mando'ad, but she also enjoyed going out on gaming hunts. An adopted uncle had taken her under his wing early on and taught her verd skills that her father could not. She became a good shot and often out shinned the men of the village while hunting shatual, bringing down the elusive grand buck.
Just after turning sixteen, Briika began the process of looking for a potential riduur as Mando'ade tended to marry young; family being the forefront and backbone of their culture. The blue-eyed blonde was very sought after and had many suitors, one being Solus Tor. The tall, dark, and ruggedly handsome goran had caught her eye well before he put his name in the hat when she had treated him as an apprenticing blacksmith. He was considered to be a wild card by Aran for his daughter's hand, but in the end after fighting for her, Solus took Bree as his wife in a tradtional Mandolarian wedding ceremony in front of the whole village.
Briika was soon with child. She gave Solus a son, whom they named Valen. The ad was the joy of their lives. She became pregnant again twice, but Bree could not carry the babies to full term. The miscarriages brought them closer together as they shared their pain, and the knowledge that she would not be able to bare any more children due to heavy scarring left over from an abdominal injury occured during a hunting accident.
When Valen turned thirteen, Solus took him on his verd'goten. During the the father-son trip, they were attacked by members of Death Watch, and Valen was killed. Solus did not take it well. Feeling guilty and unable to face Briika, he shut her out and pushed her away, which caused their riduurok to break. After six months of being estranged from each other, though still living toether, the Tors slowly began to revive their marriage when Solus finally opened up about what happened and Briika let go of her anger, hurt, and resentment of her treatment.
After getting back together and reknewing their riduurok, they had another baby against all odds, whom was named Ka'ra as she was born under the stars. When Mandalore was bombed and the planet left uninhabital, the Tors moved to Concord Dawn to start a new life.
