Morasha Damaya
As Queen Mother of the Spider Clans of Dathomir, Morgana's rise to power was one of hardship and tribulation. Her earliest memories were those of her mother, Sorscha Damaya being outcast from the clan of the Nightsisters. Dishonored and disgraced by the Nightsisters, Morgana and her mother were found by the exiled Spider Clan and brought before the Clan Mother in the Nightspider Cult Cave. She offered them solace and sanctuary however meager the hospitality of the clan might be. They started in the lowest sects of the clan, and were viewed with suspicion and spite.
It wasn't until nearly a decade later that Morgana's mother was able to prove her allegiance to the Spider Clan by mistakenly killing a Nightsister assassin sent to kill the clan's most fierce arachnid warrior. From that point forward, their loyalty to the clan was never questioned. Her mother however, would not survive the fatal wounds she received during the fight. The slow, agonizing death that she endured twisted and tormented Morgana for years to come, and though she had become an honored member of the clan at her mothers expense, she became more reclusive than ever.
After years of self torment, Morgana found a friend in a young outcast that reminded her of herself named Phedre Brevil. She was a strange girl with a mysterious attunement to the natural order of the planet that fascinated Morgana, and agitated the other clan sisters. They regarded the young girl with fear and suspicion, just as they had Morgana when she'd arrived years earlier. When she could, Morgana warded off bullies and attacks from the clan sisters with simple spells and physical strength. But she could not protect Phedre from her her greatest enemy--her own mother, the High Priestess of the clan. On rare occasions, the two spoke of the abuse that Phedre had endured at the hands of her own mother and over time, Morgana learned to simply not ask.
The two escaped life within the clan as often as they could, exploring the wilds of Dathomir and interacting with the strange and mysterious creatures of the planets lush forests. As time went on, Phedre revealed her secret--she could communicate with the creatures as plainly as she could communicate with anyone else. How she did it, Morgana didn't know. But it was a power that she envied and observed with great fascination for years to come. Utilizing Phedre's unique gifts, Morgana would later seize control of the Spider Clan with the help of a monsterous ancient spider named Xayide . She would go on to become the clans first Clan Mother of an unpure bloodline, and destroy a bloodline that had ruled the clan for over a thousand years.
