Viktor Mereel is an Imperial Royal Guard and leader of the Mandalorian Mereel clan. He was once leader of the Imperial Royal Guards and was nephew to Mand'alor Jaster Mereel.
In Imperial Crimson Guard uniformEdit
The crimson uniform of the Imperial Guards hangs loosely on him, flowing approximately 5 feet from his shoulders to the ground, with a full-length cloak around the edge. The mask contained a filter system and several types of viewing styles, including infra-red and sonic, that gives extra aid in battle. The mask completely hides his gaze and the Force-pike in his right hand matches the second one that is in a sheath on his back. He appears dominating yet elegant, and with two holsters in his boots for blaster pistols, he is clearly as dangerous as people would expect.
In Mandalorian ArmourEdit
His Mandalorian Armour is black with red shoulder-pads, looking remarkably similar to the armour that Jaster Mereel used. He hasn't used his Armour on an official mission for almost three decades now.
In plain clothesEdit
He's honourable, as expected for a Mando'ad, and puts this high up on his agenda. He thinks that rule through power/authority is essential in government, but thinks that (based on experience) torture and the massacre of innocents isn't. This caring for human life may make him seem liberal, but he still believes that a dictatorship, where the strongest rise and control the weak, is the best system of government.
He has specific beliefs regarding the Resol'Nare also. Because of his allegiance to Jaster Mereel, and his belief that all those that opposed him are traitors. He also thinks that, because he is the last of the Clan Mereel, his clan is the Imperial Crimson Guards. After all, as the Mandalorian saying goes, "family is more than bloodlines."
His father, Kelpeck Mereel, was born on the harsh world of Concord Dawn in the year 60BBY, the year that Jaster Mereel (Kelpeck's brother) became Mandalore. As his proposals were rejected and the Mandalorian Civil War started, Jaster hid on Concord Dawn, illegally, with aid from the Fett family.
In 52BBY, Jaster Mereel was betrayed and murdered by one of his closest friends, and the Mereel legacy died. Kelpeck was 8, and attended the funeral. 16 years later, when he was 24, he had a son whom he named Viktor with his wife Eileena Mereel. This son he raised in the strictist Mandalorian style with the intent of making him Mandalore, to continue the Mereel family legacy.
In 26 BBY, when Viktor was 10, Kelpeck was made Journeyman Protector, and trained Viktor thoroughly in the arts of the Mandalorians, until Viktor was notably one of the stronger Mandalorian youths. In 20 BBY, Kelpeck was assassinated and Viktor took his place as Journeyman Protector. In 16 BBY, at the age of 20, Viktor joined the training for Imperial Royal Guard, and was succeeded as Journeyman Protector by Boba Fett.
Over the next 30 years, he rose in the ranks to become the leader of the Imperial Royal Guard, and then the Imperial Crimson Guard. The Crimsons were known to be, perhaps, the most elite of fighting units in the galaxy, and with good reason. But in these 30 years, Viktor, whilst having plenty of news about the Mandalorians, didn't respond to any hails from them.
Viktor resigned as Grand General of the Imperial Royal Guards and fled the Empire, taking with him a group of loyal Imperials. He now operates as a renegade, associating himself with the Empire and Mandalorians but refusing to ally with anyone that he thinks could tie him down.
